Do you need a wedding videographer if you have have a wedding photographer? - Flagship Studios

I already have a photographer - Do I need a videographer?

This is actually a great question. Writing this article as a wedding videographer it would be so easy to just say, yes — yes you need a wedding videographer! But, that would be incredibly lazy and biased. So let’s talk about it.

Both wedding photography and wedding videography serve a similar purpose; to help you relive one of the most important days of your life. Both help preserve your memories and allow you to share some truly special moments with all of your friends and family. Which is awesome. But do you need both?

While photography is great at capturing a moment and creating beautiful artwork to hang on your walls, it still has it’s limitations. Photography is limited to only capturing the visual moments. Video has the added advantage of being able to capture the visuals, the sounds, and combining the two into a story that captures the emotions of the day. It’s a more emersive way of reliving your wedding. It’s also a more emersive way to share your wedding with your friends, family, and maybe even your future kids.

Do you really need a wedding videographer? The honest answer is — only you can make that decision. Years from now are you going to want to relive the most important day of your life in the most emersive way possible? Are you going to want to hear your family and friends, see your loved ones having an amazing time, are you going to want to show your story in an epic way? Or do you think just having photos will suffice? In the end it’s up to you!

If you do decide you’d like your story crafted into a beautiful wedding film — let’s chat! We would love to help tell your story.
